Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour can be one of the most gruelling and dispiriting forms of crime. It is my priority to make my constituents feel safe in their homes - no-one should be a target of anti-social behaviour.
I am taking action locally against Anti-Social Behaviour.
My fantastic team of caseworkers have facilitated countless community resolutions. These resolutions mean that all parties win - families are kept safe, and the conciliatory approach means communities can come together quicker, and move forward together.
Where cordial resolution cannot be found, I have been pushing for tougher action.
In Parliament, I’m working to close down anti-social behaviour hotspots.
One of the reasons for anti-social behaviour in a community is that there is a place for it - disused and derelict buildings can become hot-spots for anti-social behaviour, and empowering communities to take back these spaces is something I am campaigning for.
I used my position on the bill committee for the English Devolution and Empowerment Bill to advocate for exactly that - please see my contribution here (fifth paragraph down).
