Safer Roads
We should all be able to feel safe on our roads. I am working to eradicate dangerous junctions, strengthen speed limit enforcement, and improve road safety in Stratford-on-Avon.
I am taking direct action, locally.
I convened a stakeholder meeting in Salford Priors to press for long-overdue improvements to the A46 between Stratford and Evesham, and when commitments were not acted upon, I followed up directly with National Highways to demand progress.
You can read my letter to National Highways, here.
I have also pressed the Department for Transport to engage with Warwickshire County Council on a full safety review of the A422 Banbury Road and B4455 Fosse Way junction - please see my letter below.
I have raised this issue in Parliament.
I have spoken in debate about the vital link between proper road maintenance and road safety - because safer roads require sustained pressure, practical solutions, and action at every level. Please see my contribution, here.

“To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what steps her Department is taking to ensure developers complete (a) roads and (b) pavements on new housing developments in a timely manner.”
Please see the full question and answer here.
I also have also questioned the Department for Transport:
“To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if she will take steps to help tackle speeding in (a) Stratford-on-Avon constituency and (b) other rural areas.”
